Is This The End Of ADV?

Because you are going to be without new episodes for awhile, I will try to update with blog posts when possible. I just came across this story about ADV removing titles from their website. These are some pretty big titles like Gurren Lagann, Kanon, Sergeant Frog, and many more. ADV has not said anything about this yet and the titles are still missing from the site. I would  love to say that ADV is facing it’s last days but from this story I’m not so sure. I want to see ADV go under to be honest. They are my least favorite american company and I can’t stand them and Mr. Greenfield. ADV has made so many contradicting statements I stopped trusting them a long time ago and look upon them as an enemy if anything. Do you think ADV is going to go under or is it just ADV cutting back on costs?

Also please join the fan site or Haruhi will cry.

    I dunno :3

Maybe the Space Marines of the Imperium are taking over ADV :3

Yeah. This is very very unnerving. The titles website pullout would probably be nothing if it didn’t come right after a whole bunch of really disturbing moves (pulling of Newtype USA, Anime Network 24/7, and international offices). Although, interestingly in comparison, these are all signs that we didn’t see when Geneon went under.

The next few months are going to be really interesting.

Well, there appears to be more to this than ADV taking the products off their website. It’s rather confusing, but I’ve tried putting everything that I’ve found about this over over on my blog.

Basically this sounds like a licensing snafu and not something caused by financial difficulties.

There are various other reasons why I don’t think this is cash related.

First, if ADV was completely going under, then they would have pulled everything, not just what they’ve licensed over the past year (and they probably would have sent out a press release by now).

Second, if they were cutting the fat and only releasing their big money makers, they wouldn’t cut series like Gurren Lagann.

DrmChsr0, mabye they are. Interesting posts you have on your blog there.

koneko-chan, you came back to comment! Yes it is unnerving, as much as I can’t stand ADV it wouldn’t be a good sign if they went down as well.

Josh, if it’s a licensing snafu it really makes me wonder. I mean what could it possibly be? How could the licensing for all those titles just have problems all of a sudden. It seems odd to me.

Thanks for taking the time to comment everyone.
